Oven Cleaning And Maintenance
All the Revent ovens we offer feature corrosion resistant steam systems and are manufactured from top quality materials that are extremely unlikely to rust, flake or peel.
However, it’s important to clean your Revent oven regularly, to ensure there are no food remnants that could become a fire hazard, keep you prepared for food safety inspections and guarantee the taste of your product isn’t adversely affected by previous baking endeavors.
How To Clean Revent Ovens
Consistency is key when it comes to cleaning your Revent oven, so make sure you stay on top of daily spills, food debris and grease by cleaning it as often as possible.
To do this, you’ll need: hot water; a mild liquid detergent; a cloth; a scourer (non-metallic); a brush or broom; baking soda or borax; Vienna lime powder.
To clean your Revent oven door:
- Turn off the oven and wait for it to cool.
- Mix hot water and liquid detergent in a bowl – this will fight tough grease stains and won’t expose your product to harsh chemicals found in some oven cleaners.
- Using a soft sponge or cloth, wipe down the glass, scrubbing at baked-on grease if necessary.
- Rinse and dry – use fresh water and a clean rag to rinse off any cleaning residue.
To clean your Revent oven interior:
- Turn off the oven and wait for it to cool.
- Sweep out the inside of the oven with a brush or broom, removing burnt food.
- Using baking soda, borax or any non-chlorine detergent, scrub down the interior. Use a Scotch Brite scouring pad or any non-metallic sponge to break up tougher stains. NOTE: Never use steel or non-stainless steel wool to clean the interior as this could scratch or corrode the metal.
- Rinse using a fresh, wet cloth and allow to dry.
To clean your Revent oven exterior:
- Turn off the oven and wait for it to cool.
- Polish the stainless steel exterior using baking soda, borax or any non-chlorine detergent. Be sure to wipe away any residue with a wet cloth. NOTE: Never use steel or non-stainless steel wool to clean the exterior as this could scratch or corrode the metal.
- Apply a dab of Vienna lime and use its grain to polish away smudges and greasy fingerprints from your Revent oven’s exterior.
- Mix hot water and mild detergent in a bowl and use a clean cloth or soft sponge to wipe down the instrument panel.
- Rinse with clean water and pat dry.
To clean your Revent oven exterior:
There are already in-built filters in your Revent oven that help remove the fats and oils that become airborne during cooking. However, to prevent grease fires and improve the air quality of your commercial kitchen, Revent recommends cleaning them once a month. Happily, the procedure is straightforward – put your filter through a dishwasher such as the Somengil MultiWasher, which provides unbeatable cleanliness and sanitation for your Revent oven and all your production equipment.
Of course, the best way to ensure your Revent oven is kept clean and functioning at peak performance 24/7 is to invest in an ongoing servicing and maintenance program from Schaumburg Specialties. Our technicians are experts in Revent ovens and know exactly what to do to ensure that yours is a well-oiled machine!
Using production equipment manufactured from germ and corrosion resistant materials – such as our SHOPCraft range of racks and sheet pans – is also key to making sure your Revent oven (and your production line!) remain firing on all cylinders. Our SHOPCraft racks are fully welded from top quality materials and are compliant with the highest hygiene security and food safety standards and using them will go a long way towards ensuring your Revent oven is kept clean and fit for purpose.
