The Client

The team at Schaumburg Specialties was approached by Molly’s Cupcakes (also see the West Loop link): a true household name in the world of cupcakes and other tasty baked treats. With shops spread across Chicago, New York, Iowa City and Cincinnati, the name behind the company was inspired by the owner’s third grade teacher: a woman called Molly who would bake cupcakes for her lucky class.

Molly’s Cupcakes was named in honour of that teacher, and has grown from strength to strength over the years. A true leader in the world of cupcakes, this awesome business donates a share of its profits directly to schools in its surrounding communities, helping with school functions and fundraisers throughout Chicago and beyond.

To work with such a socially-minded organization was a great opportunity. Needless to say, we were delighted to lend our skills towards helping Molly’s Cupcakes!

We were delighted to work with a leading cupcake manufacturer. Who doesn’t love these tasty treats?

The Challenge

Running a successful cupcake production operation demands stable, smooth-moving bakery racks. Unfortunately, Molly’s Cupcakes were using cheap bakery racks that tended to fall over and spill their products on the floor, meaning they couldn’t use the beautiful cupcakes they had created. When pushing the racks along, the sheet pans would sometimes fall through due to the instability of the racks.

In the world of bakery and transportation, stability is everything. After all, what can you do with cupcakes that have fallen on the ground?

How tragic it was to hear that these amazing flavours and pretty designs – all of that crème brulee, triple chocolate and tiramisu was going to waste!

This was more than just a frustrating problem – it was a serious issue affecting the profit margins at Molly’s Cupcakes. Luckily, Joel from the Schaumburg Specialties team quickly identified the issue and offered the business a chance to trial a brand new rack.

To test out our racks properly, the customer uses the racks on a delivery from their Naperville store to Woodfield Mall. This led to a seamless and smooth journey for the cupcakes, with nothing tipping over and the cupcakes arriving fully intact.

Thanks to our rack’s fully welded design, no part of the rack would wobble or warp. Forget nuts and bolts, and forget all of that wastage and mess to clean up. All in a day’s work for Schaumburg Specialties!

Our Solution

By switching to our celebrated SHOPCraft bakery racks, Molly’s Cupcakes were able to save the day. Protecting their cupcakes from accidental damage and waste, our racks helped our client deliver even more cupcakes to their hungry customers.

Delighted with the results of their trial rack, Molly’s Cupcakes ordered more of our SHOPCraft racks. Their return on investment was remarkably quick due to the number of wasted cupcakes being reduced to zero.

The result? Even more cupcakes, and even more satisfied cupcake lovers!

Super strong, super stable. Our racks are ideal where stability is needed!
